Prof. Pierie of LIMIS in discussion with the king during a visit to Friesland
Professor Pierie, Chief Medical Training at LIMIS was present during the visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima to the province of Friesland on 14 June 2013. Fifty Friesians had lunch with the royal couple on board the MS Friesland. The boat trip went from Stavoren to Enkhuizen. Pierie was invited due to his functions as surgeon and surgery trainer in the MCL and LIMIS Chief Medical Training. “I found it very special to talk to the king so extensively or relatively extensively”, says Pierie. On board he got the chance to exchange ideas with Willem-Alexander about his work as a Surgeon and Head of Medical Training at LIMIS. They also talked about LIMIS’s nnovations in the healthcare . The king was very interested in these innovative projects.
